Publications

Self-Study Courses

All courses are available in English and some in Spanish. The courses can be studied individually or as part of a personal study program for the Disaster Management Diploma. Individual lessons from UW-DMC self-study courses have been published in selected issues of the Journal of Pre-Hospital and Disaster Medicine since 1992.


Training Materials

Training modules and trainer's guides from the UN-Disaster Management Training Program are available in English with some in Spanish or French. There are also video modules and simulation exercises. More than 15 topics are available.


Conference Documentation

"New Approaches to New Realities," Preliminary Proceedings of the First Emergency Settlement Conference, held in Madison, Wisconsin, USA, in April 1996 is available for purchase.


Case Histories

The principal results of the International Relief/Development Project (IRDP) were published in Rising from the Ashes: Development Strategies in Times of Disaster. The UW-DMC serves as the repository for additional IRDP case histories not published in the book.
