This year, the annual disaster management workshop series will address, "Managing Mass Population Displacement Emergencies" during a five-day workshop.

In this popular workshop series you will learn fundamental concepts, practical planning strategies, proven application details and bottom-line costs for immediate application. You will learn:

  • practical details of The Sphere Project
  • disaster communications systems, options, and standards for humanitarian organizations
  • application of guidelines generated within international response community
  • use of qualitative and quantitative standards for humanitarian programs

Fundamentals of Disaster Communications (pdf)

This NEW hands-on workshop will provide the basic knowledge and skills you need to set up and manage an emergency communications system for any international disaster or humanitarian emergency. Non-technical disaster management professionals will learn the basics of field communications and experienced communications professionals will benefit as they learn to apply their technical expertise for improved humanitarian assistance.
